How much money can I realistically expect from selling a Galaxy 23 128GB?
Main Post:
(UK) I have never sold or bought a second hand phone before. I have had my Galaxy S23 for almost a year now, and it is still is basically brand new condition. However, I am looking to sell it on. I have just ran the specs through some websites for buying and selling, and most are coming out at £300/350.
I bought the phone for just over £800 so I am quite shocked at the prospect of not even receiving half of that back, but as I say, I understand that's probably the going rate for second hand phones and I just don't have experience. I myself probably wouldn't buy a secondhand phone for more than that or you'd be just as well buying new.
I am however, thinking of seeling for the £300 mark and then buying a secondhand phone for around the same so that I don't really lose any money lol.

Ion said that they would not sell Trader Tenders individually, but they could be sold in bundles. So, this was foreshadowed about a month ago. No surprise honestly.
From WowHead:
"In an interview with Gamespot, Game Director Ion Hazzikostas has confirmed that there are no plans to sell Trader's Tender as a standalone product in the store, but it may be included in certain bundles."

Anybody sells and mails gift card to CardCash?
Main Post:
Questions about mailing physical gift cards to cardcash.com
- How about your experience? Is it reliable? mailing physical cards is different from selling e-gc online.
- How did you send the physical cards?
- Who did pay for the shipping fee?
- Were you required to mail it in xx days/weeks?
Thanks!
Top Comment:
They give you an address to mail and shipping is on you. They recommend shipping with tracking so you can track it. They did not give me a date to send in by. I just sent in my first cards last week so I don’t know how long it will take to complete.
Seller “really wants to sell to a family…” sells to cash investor
Main Post:
More ranting, thanks for listening. This is the worst experience I’ve ever been through.
My wife and I found a home listed in MLS as “coming soon,” in our price range and target neighborhood, and checked every single box we were looking for. It would have been our tenth offer at this point, and knowing how cutthroat the market is, reached out to our realtor to pull comps and ask the SA if the seller would be willing to entertain an off market deal.
The SA responded saying that the seller has already received a cash offer from an investor but turned them down because she really wants to “sell to a family,” and would certainly consider our offer. The SA then proceeded to say that the seller really isn’t trying to get top dollar, even though she could, she just wants the house to go to the right people, so just write a nice letter pulling the heart strings and submit a competitive offer and we should be in good shape to make a deal.
At this point my wife and I haven’t even toured the home yet, but the pictures indicate several updates, and proper maintenance, it’s right next to a school, ten minutes from the highway, and only a few minutes away from major shopping/grocers/coffee etc. it has a big back yard, nice layout, the right floor plan.
We’ve been at this for a while now, our last realtor was a dud, and this new one seems to really be on top of it. Her whole thing is “relationships” and deep down, we’re thinking, “don’t get attached to the home” but can’t help but feel like with the new realtor (this is our first offer with her), the off market opportunity, the caring seller, all of the stars may finally be aligning in our favor.
After looking at the comps, we decide to offer 6% over ask, as this is more than all of the comps from a raw $ perspective, more $/sqft, and more % over than anything in the past 90 and 180 day windows. It’s a strong offer, but not obnoxious, but should be enough to sway the “caring” seller to make this thing happen. We used a partial appraisal waiver, which just stated the home needed to appraise for $15k less than list, which is being pretty generous, as this was very in line with the worst case scenario based on the comps.
We put an expiration date on the offer, saying the seller needs to respond before this listing goes active (48 hrs later). 24 hrs goes by and we hear back, the seller appreciated our offer but wants to still move forward with the open house. WTF!
We decided that since we already had an offer in, let’s go ahead and attend the open house. I honestly think this was a mistake because we were both upset at how this whole thing played out, and how we felt we got “played” so as we’re walking around, looking at yet another home we felt deep down that we wanted but weren’t going to get, we just had very negative emotions towards the whole house and seller, and were walking around more depressed than anything. The seller even wrote a very heartfelt letter to everyone who attended the open, saying how much she cared about this house, raised her kids in it, how they made it their own, and really wants it to go to the right people. There was an apple pie candle going, the whole 9 yards. All the while my wife and I are walking around, reading this letter, just feeling defeated.
We left the open house, thinking, we can’t really afford to offer more than we already did, and if it wasn’t enough the first time around, it’s not going to be enough now.
But low and behold, our realtor got a call from the SA, who was very interested to know what we thought of the property, and that they both felt really good about us still having skin in the game. Wow, there’s still hope!
Our realtor made it clear that for our offer to be competitive that it would have to be stronger than it originally was, and this meant at least waiving the appraisal contingency entirely. We’ve only done this once before, but it has to be the right house with the right amount of risk, not just obnoxiously throwing money out there (that we don’t necessarily have on hand).
I had our realtor send all the recent comps, and their specs, and pulled out excel to try and see this through the lens of an appraiser. What’s the most an appraiser would appraise this for? The least? The most likely? Modeling out these scenarios with our cash required to close, and what it would look like with the sellers ridiculous requirements of a 60 day close and 60 day leaseback, and how that would affect us paying month to month rent, a mortgage, etc.
I probably spent way more time on this than I should have, so there goes another weekend. If it means we get this house, it’s time we’ll spent.
We decided to resubmit our offer, this time 8.5% over ask, and waiving the appraisal contingency entirely. This was Sunday, the seller was to get back to everyone on Tuesday morning. We’re nervous wrecks, but excited at the same time. It would be a stretch financially, and we would be house poor for a couple of months while we rebuild our savings, but it wouldn’t completely tap us out, it would just be a bit more risky than we’d originally planned to be. No risk no reward, right?
We’re watching the MLS religiously, and low and behold the house goes pending. The seller accepted an offer, we waited an hour, then two, then came to accept that yet again, we lost in the bidding war. We asked our realtor to reach out to the SA, tell us what happened, what more could we have done? SA responds, the seller went with an all cash offer from an investor who waived all contingencies.
Unreal. We’re feeling so many emotions at this point, there was so much hope going into this deal, then despair, then more threads of hope, just to get slapped in the face by another one of these fcking investors. And we can’t help but feel that the seller didn’t give any shts about anything but the $$$ in the end. It’s probably the worst part of this whole home buying experience. Realizing how greedy some people can be. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I get the appeal. You bought a house 15 years ago, it’s literally more than doubled in value, hooray, you were in the right place at the right time. But when you have the choice between a cash INVESTOR, and someone with a family who has written a very thoughtful letter, toured your home, and submitted an offer that’s absolutely competitive, but just not “F you money” competitive, how can you say things like “I want this home to go to a family that cares, blah blah blah,” then just sell it to the investor in the end?
I can’t help but feel like this was the strategy the entire time, and the seller was just really using everyone’s offers to negotiate with the cash offer from the investor, with no intentions to sell to a family.
TLDR; seller strung us along making us think we had a chance when at the end of the day just ended up selling to an investor.

I won't fault somebody for getting their bag. I mean some investor says "here's more money AND less requirements than anyone else will come to you with", I don't blame you for selling to that lol. But ya I can understand it hurts that you went through the whole song and dance just to miss out to someone who won't step foot in that house.
*cries in watching the quality of house im currently a renter in go from 220k to 280k since last year
Where can I find a shop that sells okra?
Main Post:
Normally just do shopping at lidl but they don't have too many different veg.
Anyone know any shops that sell veg like plantain, okra etc.
Thanks

What area are you in? I find that supermarkets in areas with higher population of Caribbean/South Asian people tend to carry that sort of thing. For example, I'm pretty sure I've seen both plantain and okra in the Asda in Longsight, while other Asdas don't seem to stock them.
However, an even better bet would be an ethnic food Cash and Carry, such as WorldWide in Rusholme, or Appna in Longsight. I don't think there are any such in the town centre. So dependant on where you are, someone might be able to recommend a cash & carry nearby.
